Topanga Dreaming is owned and run by the Gutin family — co-owned by Dahabada, who lives on the property, and Lawrence, who runs the systems behind it. They host every guest themselves, and they bring backgrounds in neuroscience, executive operations, and brand to how the place is run. Nothing here is accidental.
The Story
The land came first.
The whole property sits against Topanga State Park, on a stretch of ridge that holds onto golden hour longer than seems fair. An acre of tiered Mediterranean gardens, an orchard of oranges and loquats and passion fruit, a fig tree that has been here a hundred years, and trailheads that begin where the driveway ends. The kind of land that decides what gets built on it — every structure here sits where the terrain allowed rather than where a plan wanted it, which is why the property feels found rather than developed.
Designed around what actually restores people.
Two houses and two studios, sleeping twenty between them, and a wellness circuit built deliberately rather than assembled from a catalogue: a jacuzzi facing the mountains, infrared and traditional sauna, a cold plunge. The emphasis on silence, on sleep, on blackout shades and the absence of interruption is not a design conceit. It reflects how recovery actually works, and it comes from a family with the training to know the difference.

She brings a background in neuroscience to the work, and it shows in more than it might appear to: the restoration circuit, the emphasis on sleep quality and silence, and a property built around what genuinely settles a nervous system rather than what merely photographs as restful.
